Niagara North caught looking at the Stars in loss to EaglesUpdated Monday October 1, 2012 by Anita Drink.
Talk about upsets. Niagara North walked into Burlington’s barn on Monday evening as a heavy favourite according to Vegas odds; but games aren’t won on paper. Outshooting Burlington twenty to five going into the third period it appeared the Stars were going to build on their 2-1 lead for their first win of the season. Having blown a 3-1 third period lead in the previous game coach Pat had concerns of the players focus down the stretch. St. Onge weighed in “We have been great out of the gate so far this season but we need to finish.”
Words echoed by the coaching staff.
Burlington scored two unanswered goals early in the third and the Stars lost to the Eagles for the first time in the last 7 meetings between the two squads.
The teams will have a rematch on Saturday in St Catharines.
