Stars dip in the Well(s) for VictoryUpdated Thursday October 4, 2012 by Ryan Coke.
It was a game that had nearly 20 minutes of pre-game speeches from 2 coaches, an assistant trainer and a manager. There were high sticks, cross checks, head checks, trips and unsportsmanlike conducts. It seemed like the entire Niagara North wanted a win tonight as bad as any all season. While the scoring touch was absent for most of the night, hard work, physical play and limited mistakes allowed the Stars to hand the Rivermen their eighth loss in nine games to start their 2012-2013 campaign.
“We needed to play tough but stay out of the box.” Said Dorian Maye. Clean physical play was key in the Stars win as they were assessed only 3 minor penalties to 8 for the Rivermen. “Hopefully we can build on this win and take it to our game on Saturday.” Said Patrick McCabe.
Dylan Wells recorded his second straight shutout
The Stars get a much needed practice on Thursday then are right back at it on Saturday when they get a second shot at Matthew Barnaby and the Buffalo Regals.
