Bulldogs Lose Their BiteUpdated Monday November 26, 2012 by Ryan Ginger.
On a day filled with off-ice distractions the 98 Niagara North team had every reason to roll over for the Hamilton Bulldogs. The Stars were limping into Hamilton down a short a player, short three bench staff and had never beaten the Hamilton Bulldogs in their team’s history (24 regular season attempts).
Captain Romaeo D’Intino and Assistant Captains Addison DeTullio, Conner Hendsbee and Rylee St Onge weren’t ready to pack it in. A pre-game, closed door, team only meeting refocused the team. “Play for the guy on your left and for the guy on your right and we’ll be there at the end of the game.” Words that brought goose bumps to first year North Star Latrell Harris.
It would be unfair to pick out a select few as difference makers in this game as the entire Niagara North team played as if this was the biggest game of their lives; but it would have been impossible to not notice the game of Latrell Harris tonight. He scored 5 goals including 3 equalizers, the game winning and the insurance goals as well as added an assist on the Stars only other goal. What a performance!
Lost in all the distractions was Louie Del Sordo’s return to Hamilton. On a game he had highlighted on his iPhone for months (why don’t kids use paper calendars anymore) Louie had two key assists. His smile touched both ears as the team celebrated after the game.
The win extends the Stars unbeaten streak to 10 games.
